Ward, 27, was released by Charlton earlier this summer and is currently a free agent.
The goalkeeper linked up with the Addicks in the January transfer window and penned a short-term deal with an option.
Though he didn’t have much of an impact at the Valley, if he connects with Jackson at AFC Wimbledon, the Charlton connection might endure.
Jackson, the manager at AFC Wimbledon and a former player for Charlton, is eager to bring Ward there, and the team is showing further interest.
The goal for the Dons will be to work out a deal with the stopper so they can sign him.
After coming up through Reading’s development system, Ward had several loan stints away from the Royals before settling down permanently with Exeter City.
In recent years he has also been on the books at Portsmouth, Swindon Town and Sutton United.
