Romaine Sawyers, a former midfielder for AFC Wimbledon, is expected to sign with Bristol Rovers of League One, according to the South London Press. The 33-year-old joined the Dons on a one-month contract in December, but it was confirmed on Monday that Sawyers had left Plough Lane to “pursue a new challenge.” Sawyers, who was capped 49 times by Saint Kitts and Nevis, made five appearances during his time at Wimbledon and scored in his final game, a 2-1 victory over Newport County. The Gas are currently in 20th place in League One, five points above the drop zone, and they recently hired former Brighton defender Inigo Calderon as their new manager for a two-and-a-half-year contract.
AFC Wimbledon have confirmed that Romaine Sawyers has left the club at the end of his one-month contract.
The 33-year-old joined the Dons on a short-term deal for one month to cope with the midfield injuries to Johnnie Jackson’s side.
Jake Reeves, Callum Maycock, James Ball and Myles Hippolyte were all missing when Sawyers signed.

Wimbledon have confirmed that Sawyers will “pursue a new challenge” after leaving Plough Lane.
