Good news: Unai Emery reveals his dreams for aston villa

Aston Villa look to have identified a key target heading into the January transfer window..

After overseeing an incredible start to the season at Villa Park, Unai Emery, the manager of Aston Villa, has reportedly identified a major target ahead of the January transfer window.

The high goals of Aston Villa…
The Villans are unquestionably a very different team now than they were a year ago, and they appear ready to make a run at bringing Champions League football to Villa Park.

Aston Villa’s recruitment team has worked extremely hard behind the scenes to bring some extremely talented players to the club, and this has coincided with the team’s rapid rise from relegation contenders to currently sitting fourth in the Premier League table. The Spanish coach Emery deserves a great deal of credit for the progress he has managed to unearth in the West Midlands.

The Villans have made impressive progress, scoring 29 points from 14 games. They are now only four points behind league leaders Arsenal going into a busy stretch of games over the Christmas season.

Aston Villa’s intriguing matchups this week at Villa Park against Manchester City and Arsenal should provide an indication of how far they can push their high goals this season, as they face two of Europe’s best teams. Though Emery’s team may be somewhat more comparable to Manchester United and Chelsea, Mark Bosnich, a player for both teams, has stated that he believes the Villans will finish ahead of both teams:

“I know they had the draw on the weekend against Bournemouth but I thought overall they were again a little bit unfortunate that the disallowed goal they had, I think that would have turned them.”

“Unai Emery, though—you look at his record this year, he’s second only to Manchester City, I believe. Thus, I believe Aston Villa will emerge victorious over the teams you have mentioned, Manchester United and Chelsea.”

On the transfer front, Emery is now reportedly lining up a move for a La Liga star to bolster his options in the final third ahead of the second portion of the campaign.

According to FootballTransfers, Aston Villa have identified Real Betis winger Abde Ezzalzouli as a primary target for the January transfer window after previously targeting the Morocco international in the summer. The report states that Emery has personally scoped out the 21-year-old as a key target to help fill the left-sided forward role in his side and is eager for a deal to materialise.

However, there might be a significant roadblock to the transfer involving Monchi, the president of football operations for the Villans. It is thought that Real Betis and the 55-year-old have strained relations because of an incident in 2022 when he went onto the pitch to celebrate defeating Sevilla in a derby match.

Abde, who has taken on about 1.5 shots per game this season in La Liga, has been dubbed “extraordinary” by Barcelona manager Xavi. (WhoScored statistics for Abde)

In the New Year, Emery may have made a brilliant move by adding another dynamic player to the left side as he attempts to qualify for the Continental Championship in the West Midlands.
