Juventus winger Samuel Iling-Junior was one of the bright spots on the team during their dismal 2022/23 campaign in which they eventually failed to qualify for any sort of European football at all due to sanctions.
This season, things have gone better for the Bianconeri, as they are legitimately in the Scudetto race again, fighting hard to stick with last season’s Champions League finalists and Coppa Italia winners Inter Milan.
Regretfully, Iling-Junior hasn’t contributed significantly to the achievement. The veteran Filip Kostić and star player Federico Chiesa for Juventus provide options on the left side of the pitch, so the left-sided wide player is having trouble getting on the field.
Because of this, it appears that Juventus is prepared to offer Iling-Junior for sale in January’s transfer window, and several prominent Premier League teams are interested in the 20-year-old.
Three Premier League teams with hopes of qualifying for the Champions League are currently interested in Iling-Junior: Aston Villa, Tottenham, and Brighton, according to a report from Mirko Di Natale of Tutto Juve.
Iling-Junior is valued by Juventus at between 15 and 18 million euros, according to Di Natale, which is a fair price that any of these teams can afford. Though the January market hasn’t opened yet, Juventus hasn’t received any offers as of yet.
Tottenham has regularly transacted with Serie A teams and Juventus. Two former young standouts for Juventus, Dejan Kuluseveski and Rodrigo Bentancur, have emerged as key players for Spurs in their quest to contend for a championship without Harry Kane.
Iling-Junior might be an interesting depth player for Tottenham, providing a level of excitement and intensity on the flank, even though he wouldn’t be a regular starter. Ange Postecoglou would have valued his progressive carries and pressing work.
Aston Villa
Under Unai Emery, Aston Villa appears to be one of the teams to watch in European football, trailing only one point from the title. Villa plans to be aggressive in the winter in order to clinch a top-four spot, having made more wise acquisitions this summer.
The Premier League is a competitive league, so making the right additions could make a big difference. Young talents have been found by Villa so skillfully; if Iling-Junior were signed, he might play the best football of his life for the team.
This season, Brighton advanced to the Europa League following a memorable 2022–2023 season under Roberto De Zerbi. Despite their ninth-place ranking in the league, the Seagulls’ poor luck with injuries is largely to blame.
Brighton will probably be buyers in the transfer market to make up for the absences, even though their strategy is to target young players with high upside and low cost.
Iling-Junior is a good fit. Iling-Junior’s work ethic and physical attributes seem to fit De Zerbi’s liking of his Serie A players, and he could be a useful role player for the Seagulls as they attempt to reclaim their spot in the top seven.
