Since his comeback from injury, the 23-year-old has battled to establish himself as a regular starter at the north London club.
Smith Rowe needs to play frequently at this stage of his career to progress, and he may be willing to quit the club in January if things do not change.
Journalist Graeme Bailey has stated that Aston Villa are interested in signing the 23-year-old midfielder. In addition, Newcastle is interested in the player.
“Does Arteta have faith in him?” I don’t believe he does, you know. Smith Rowe has had some opportunities to play, but he’s way down the pecking order. We know Aston Villa want him; they almost signed him before and still do, according to our sources.
Newcastle would take him, Brighton would take him, but he cannot go to Tottenham because they will not sell him. He’ll wait until January to see what happens,” Bailey remarked on the Talking Transfers Podcast.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal is willing to move him in the middle of the season. The Gunners already have creative midfielders in Martin Odegaard and Fabio Vieira. They might not be able to keep Smith Rowe in the starting lineup on a consistent basis.
It would be intriguing to watch if Aston Villa make a formal offer to sign the midfielder in the coming months. They could definitely use additional depth and skill in their attack, and Smith Rowe will bring creativity and goals to the team.
Similarly, Newcastle United struggled to produce goals on a consistent basis last season and might benefit from someone like Smith Rowe, who will provide a new dimension to their assault. Prior to his injury, the 23-year-old Arsenal midfielder was regarded as one of the Premier League’s brightest emerging talents, and he may be a significant player for both teams if he can regain his form and confidence.
