Exclusive: Aston Villa £40m Jan bid accepted

Aston Villa could land RB Salzburg star Oscar Gloukh in January for a fee of around £40-50million, sources have told Football Insider.

Salzburg don’t want to lose the 19-year-old mid-season but it is believed their exit from the Champions League is a huge blow.

The Austrian powerhouses have a history of selling their best players; in recent years, Patson Daka, Brenden Aaronson, and Dominik Szoboszlai have all left for large sums of money.

Despite Gloukh’s recent arrival to Salzburg, it is anticipated that the Israeli international will be difficult to retain given the amount of interest from across Europe and the Premier League.

Gloukh is being watched by Aston Villa ahead of the January transfer window, according to Football Insider, which reported on Monday, December 11. The midfielder is thought to have excellent potential.

With the ability to play on both wings and as an attacking midfielder, the teenager has a contract that expires in June 2027.

With 41 games under his belt, he has already scored eight goals and provided seven assists for Salzburg, including two in the Champions League.

With 16 games played, Aston Villa is currently ranked third in the Premier League after an incredible start to the 2023–24 season.

Football Insider disclosed on Tuesday, December 12th, that Villa is preparing a January transfer for a primary striker, even with Ollie Watkins’ outstanding performance this season.

The giants of the Midlands have earned a spot in the Europa Conference League’s knockout round, which begins in February.

The Midlands giants are reportedly prepared to move for two more attackers in January in order to strengthen their top-four credentials.

In other news, a significant development has moved Aston Villa closer to a payout of over £30 million.
