Joe Cole fires double warning to Villa forward after England goal against Australia”

The most recent Aston Villa news is that Ollie Watkins, following his goal against Australia ahead of Euro 2024, has received two warnings from England.

Despite scoring on Friday night against Australia, Ollie Watkins has been cautioned by former England winger Joe Cole that he is still not guaranteed a spot at Euro 2024.

England won the friendly match 1-0 at Wembley Stadium thanks to the game’s lone goal from Aston Villa striker. This victory served as a warm-up for Tuesday’s Euro qualifier against Italy at home. Watkins has cautioned that he still faces fierce competition for his spot in the team, despite the fact that his strike won praise from both spectators and analysts.

Cole claims that “we all know” Harry Kane is England’s best striker, but there are three guys fighting for the other two spots. Cole thinks the race for a spot on the plane to the Euros in Germany the next year is between Watkins, Callum Wilson, and Ivan Toney.

“It was very difficult because it was disjointed at times, and that’s understandable because Australia are a good side. He was running the channels, he was in the right positions at the right times.”

We significantly changed up the lineup, and as a striker, you have to continually search for such combinations. He continued placing himself in advantageous situations, and he was rewarded. Along with Ivan Toney and Callum Wilson, he has invested himself there. We all know that Harry Kane is the best player, but perhaps Gareth (Southgate) will select two of those three.

“The season still has a lot of games left. Callum Wilson has the Champions League and has the potential to achieve something truly amazing there, therefore Toney needs to return. We have so many talented players that there is competition for spots.
