The latest transfer news in the Premier League as AC Milan make contact with Aston Villa and Arsenal over the signings of defenders.
According to reports, AC Milan has contacted Barcelona regarding Clement Lenglet, a central defender who is currently having a difficult loan with Aston Villa. The former Tottenham Hotspur player has played five times in the Europa Conference League but has not played a minute in the Premier League under Unai Emery.
Prior to the January window, Milan and Barcelona are reportedly in contact, according to dependable transfer news journalist Fabrizio Romano. Milan is reportedly considering Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior as one of their shortlist candidates as they try to bolster their defence before the season ends.
Since joining Villa Park, Lenglet has struggled because Diego Carlos, Pau Torres, and Ezri Konsa are all ranked ahead of him. Given that Tyrone Mings’ injury ended the season and his signing was primarily intended as emergency cover, the Frenchman probably should have anticipated playing second fiddle.
Lenglet might be tempted to give it a try, but it remains to be seen if he would have a better chance of starting games in Milan. Conversely, Kiwior is a relatively new addition to the Arsenal team and may be more difficult to persuade.
