Astros of Houston: Birthdays

R.H. For the 2020 Astros, Brandon Bailey (29), appeared in five relief appearances and recorded four strikeouts in 7 1⁄3 innings. His 2.45 ERA was due to two earned runs allowed. His major league career has consisted of those five outings (to date). Bailey is presently a member of the Chicago White Sox team.

R.H. Jordan Lyles, 33, spent his first three seasons as a player for Houston in 2011–2013. Once more, we must honour the players who persevered through the utter misery of Houston’s Major League Baseball narrative, of which Lyles constituted a major figure throughout the majority of that period. Over the course of the three years, he made 72 appearances overall, starting 65 of them. He went 14-29 with a 5.35 ERA and 259 strikeouts in 377 innings. 1OF/B. In 1964 and 1965, Walt Bond (1937–1967) participated in 265 games for the team’s developmental squad. With 132 RBI, he blasted.258/.322/.397 and smacked 27 home homers. After leaving the service in 1962, Bond was diagnosed with leukaemia; yet, he played the most of his major league career before passing away from the illness.

In 13 games for the DSL in 2022, right-hander Dawill Almonte (22) struck out more than one hitter every inning while maintaining a 2.77 ERA over 40 1⁄3 innings of work. Although he did not play in 2023, he is still listed with the DSL.
