Dusty Baker gets unusual retirement gift from Houston rapper

Even at 74 years old, Dusty Baker still has plenty of street cred.

Houston-area rapper Paul Wall posted a picture of himself posing with Baker to Instagram this week. Wall saluted Baker on his retirement as an MLB manager and revealed that he was getting Baker a pair of grillz as a retirement present.

Wall captioned the photo, saying, “I wanna say congratulations to Dusty Baker on an amazing career.” “I appreciate you coming to oversee the @astros.” Seeing you guide the Stros and create history was an honour!

“May joy and blessings come your way!” Wall mentioned Baker. “Myself and @johnnydangandco prepared some grillz for you as a retirement present.”

After 26 seasons as an MLB manager with five different teams (and three Manager of the Year Awards), Baker recently announced his retirement. After taking over as manager of the Astros in 2020, Baker guided the team to four ALCS appearances throughout his tenure, which culminated in the team’s first World Series victory in 2022. Baker stated that he still intends to remain involved in baseball, even if he is resigning as captain.

Regarding the grillz, they are an essential part of hip-hop society. Despite the likelihood that Baker won’t be flashing that blinged-out smile anytime soon, he is actually a far greater hip-hop fan than you might imagine.
