At everton stadium barrel cladding commence on the transformation

The distinctive curved roof edges of Everton Stadum will be produced by barrel cladding, which will completely change the stadium’s façade.

Next week, the first polished, perforated aluminium panels will be fastened to the stadium’s northeastern edge. This comes after engineering safety testing that evaluated the stadium’s vulnerability to wind were completed successfully.

At that point, the roof change will officially start. It will cover the whole length of the east and west stands and be assisted by a motorised crane attachment that can move the parts into different places.

After the steelwork is finished and the outer roof sections are being installed, the roof edges will be coated to create a waterproof outer shell and expedite the interior fit-out.

The two main stands’ interior chambers and spaces are already changing, and the stadium bowl’s bottom tier of the east stand—the last stand not yet filled in to ground level—has seen the installation of the first concrete rakers.

The massive screen in the south stand, which consists of 1,250 LED panels, is presently being assembled to reflect the screen that has already been installed in the north stand.

Everton Stadium has one year remaining of the planned three-year build, ahead of its scheduled completion in December, 2024.
