On Saturday, March 2, Kenneth Davies was taken into custody in relation to an incident that occurred in the town’s Whitletts Road.
Mr. Davies, 70, of Ayr, is accused with assault causing serious injury as well as attacking or obstructing law enforcement.
During Monday’s private hearing in Ayr Sheriff Court, he did not enter a plea.
He was placed under arrest and committed for more investigation. He is expected back in court in eight days.
A representative for officers Scotland stated: “On Saturday, March 2, 2024, at around 4:45 p.m., officers were called to an address on Whitletts Road, Ayr, in response to a report of a disturbance.
“When police arrived, they discovered a deceased woman inside the home.
“The death is being investigated and is being treated as unexplained.”
