Hamilton Accies are set to make Ayr United goalkeeper Charlie Albinson their first signing of the summer.
John Rankin’s side are preparing for life in the Championship next term after winning promotion from League One earlier this month, thanks to a 5-3 aggregate triumph over Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the play-off final.
And the first addition to the squad since that success is set to come in the form of Albinson, who would replace regular Accies No.1 Ryan Fulton after he left New Douglas Park for an expected move to Scottish Premiership side Hearts.
Lanarkshire Live Sport understands the 27-year-old shot-stopper has been offered a two-year deal and will complete his move once his contract with the Honest Men expires on May 31
Albinson, 27, helped the Honest Men win the Championship with 22 appearances during the previous campaign. He will now play against his old team in the division the following year. He began his career in the Manchester City youth system before moving to Somerset Park in July 2021. Prior to that, he played for Southport in the English Conference League.
