Road closed as one struggling for life after serious crash in Ballymoney

A’serious’ crash on a Co Antrim road has kept it closed as of Friday morning.

Ballymoney’s Frosses Road is closed between Kirk Road and the intersection with Kilraughts Road.

Drivers are urged to look for alternate routes, according to the police.

According to the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, one patient has been hospitalised.

“On Thursday, September 19, at 23:20, the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call in response to reports of an RTC in the Frosses Road Area of Ballymoney.

“NIAS responded to the incident by sending out two Emergency Ambulance Crews and one Rapid Response Paramedic.

“Following initial assessment and treatment at scene, one patient was taken to Causeway Hospital by ambulance.”

“The Frosses Road, Ballymoney is closed between the Kirk Road and its junction with the Kilraughts Road roundabout due to a serious road traffic collision,” police said early on Friday morning.

“It is likely that closures will take effect immediately. Although local detours are clearly marked, it is advisable that you find a different path.”
