Marcus Williams, a safety for the Ravens, made his practice comeback on Wednesday, his first since getting hurt in London. He was a small-time player.
With Williams back, the Ravens would have a wealth of skill at safety and could have stimulating discussions about how to deploy them all. With five interceptions, Geno Stone, his successor, leads the NFL. A versatile stalwart is Kyle Hamilton.
Williams is among the Ravens’ top defensive players when healthy. Prior to the hamstring injury, he was also managing a pectoral issue, but he was performing well despite his physical limitations. Early in Wednesday’s practice, Williams was engaged in tackling exercises.
When asked if he felt near to his goal, Williams said, “I feel good.” When asked if he would play against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Williams responded, “We’ll see what happens.”
Marcus Williams (hamstring) returned to Ravens practice today.
Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (shoulder), running back Gus Edwards (toe), offensive tackles Ronnie Stanley (shoulder) and Morgan Moses (shoulder), outside linebacker Odafe Oweh (ankle/knee), and cornerback Rock Ya-Sin (sickness) were the six Ravens players who did not practice on Wednesday.
According to head coach John Harbaugh, none of the absences or injuries are alarming.
Security Daryl Worley opened his 21-day practice window on Wednesday after being cleared to return off injured reserve. During the Ravens’ Week 4 victory in Cleveland, Worley sustained a shoulder injury.
At the beginning of the week, running back Keaton Mitchell (hamstring) participated in full practice.
DB Daryl Worley has been designated for return and returned to practice ‼️
