BARROW AFC manager Pete Wild says planning is already under way for next season.
The Bluebirds have started looking at potential new additions to the squad for the 2024/25 campaign.
One of the areas the Barrow boss is looking to strengthen is the club’s B team.
And even before they knew their fate in terms of which division they would be plying their trade in next term, moves were already afoot.
Wild had said previously that the Barrow B team had been a huge plus for the club in terms of keeping players match sharp and allowing them to give youngsters access to playing alongside first teamers.
This was the first season that the club had used a B team, and now that is one area they are looking to build on.
Last week Jason Taylor’s side were in action against Blackpool Reserves and went down 3-0 in a behind closed doors clash.
While one or two senior players did feature, the majority of the team was made up of trialists as Barrow looked to run the rule over a number of youngsters.
Speaking about the process, Wild told The Mail: “We need to start looking at next year and what the B team will look like next year.
“It is always a good chance to start the process early by looking at the young players, and seeing what young players are out there.
“We had a load of players in for a trial game the other week, and we sort of whittled that down and had a few of them playing last Tuesday to see how they did against obviously better opposition.
“That process will continue across the summer, and it will be one of many touch points as we continue to try to look at players for next season.”
