Barrow are on the hunt for new bosses following the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.
he Bluebirds have seen Pete Wild depart following a successful two-year stint with the club, now a contender for the job has emerge.
Football Insider claims that 34-year-old coach Harry Watling is in contention for the Barrow managerial positions as they hunt for a new leader.
Watling is said to be in line for a first role in English senior management is under consideration at both League Two clubs.
While only 34, Watling is a coach with some good pedigree and could be well-equipped for a first shot at being the lead man in the dugout.
He started out in academy football from a young age, working as a coach at Chelsea, Millwall and West Ham between January 2009 to January 2021. Watling then took up a job as manager of Hartford Athletic of Cincinnati.
The rumored Barrow target then returned to England to join Michael Beale’s coaching staff at QPR in July 2022.
He would follow Beale to Rangers, where they remained for a little under a year. That was his last role though, ending in October of last year.
The aims for next season
Next year will be an interesting one for both Swindon Town and Barrow
It remains to be seen just who takes the reins at the League Two clubs but Watling could be an intriguing option for both.
At the County Ground, Swindon will be determined to push back up the fourth-tier table and fight it out for promotion while Barrow will be determined to build on the foundations laid by Wild and maintain their place in the top half.
They had struggled in the relegation battle prior to his arrival though, so this next appointment is an important one.
