Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash near Beith.
The incident, involving a black Land Rover Discovery Sport and a pedestrian, happened around 10.45pm on Wednesday, 14 August 2024 on the A737 south of Beith.
The pedestrian, a 46-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for around six hours to allow collision investigation to be carried out.
Road Policing Sergeant Chris McColm said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw what happened to contact us as your information could be vital.
“I would also ask anyone with any dash-cam or CCTV footage that could help with our investigation to get in touch.”
