A BEITH man has been handed a fine after threatening his own mother with violence.
After the event two years ago, Andrew Baillie, 37, was convicted at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.
Prior to the event on March 4, 2022, Baillie, of Ash Drive, entered a guilty plea to acting in a threatening or violent manner towards his mother.
He acknowledged taking on an antagonistic attitude, frequently yelling, cursing, and making violent threats, frightening and alarming his mother.
The 37-year-old “had a serious alcohol and drug addiction” at the time of the incident, according to Baillie’s solicitor.
The Beith man, who entered the courtroom on a walking stick, almost lost the use of his legs as a result of it.
“He accepts responsibility and makes no excuse for his conduct,” his attorney continued.
The fine levied by Sheriff Murdoch Mactaggart was £790.
