After being hit by a car while crossing the street in North Ayrshire, a man is fighting for his life.

Early on Sunday morning, a Honda Civic in Beith’s Eglinton Street ran over the 25-year-old guy.
When ambulances arrived on the scene at 12:10 in the morning, the pedestrian was taken to Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. His health, according to doctors, is critical.

A man of nineteen was driving the Honda.

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses following the horrific crash, and are asking anyone who was driving in the area to check if they have dash-cam footage.

Officers say the area was busy at the time of the crash with people leaving nearby pubs.

“I believe that the area was quite busy at the time of the crash with people leaving the nearby pubs,” Sergeant Stewart Taylor stated. I would like to get in touch with anyone who saw this crash, who hasn’t talked to the police yet, or who knows something that could help our investigation.I would also be interested in speaking with any drivers who may have dash-cam footage from that time.
