Man badly injured in attack in Beith

Police are appealing for information following the attempted murder of a 44-year-old man in North Ayrshire.

On June 22, Saturday at approximately 12:05 a.m., an incident occurred in front of the Saracen’s Head Hotel located on Eglinton Street in Beith.

The man was transported to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock after being discovered hurt on the street. However, he has since been moved to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he is receiving treatment for a severe brain injury.


“Our inquiries are continuing today to trace whoever is responsible for assaulting the 44-year-old man outside the Saracen’s Head Hotel in Eglinton Street, Beith,” stated Detective Inspector William McDicken.
