New information released as enquiries into deliberate Beith car fires continue*

Police say their investigations into the incident, which happened on Acacia Drive on Wednesday, February 21, are still ongoing. Initially, at around 6 p.m., police were called to the scene where three cars had been set on fire; no injuries were reported from the incident. During their earlier inquiries, police were informed that a grey or silver car had been spotted in the street around this time. Three cars were set on fire in the same street in one night.

Detective Constable Craig Brougham stated: “Now that we have determined the make of the car, I would ask anyone who was in the area around the time with dash cam equipment to get in touch with us. Images may have been captured which could provide us with more information about the vehicle and whoever the occupants were. Any small piece of information could be important, so please do contact us.” Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2978 of Wednesday, February 21, 2024.
