Road closed as man dies causing Serious Traffic Collision in Beith

Police are investigating following a two-vehicle traffic crash at New Beith last night, August 11 which led to the death of one person.

Initial investigations indicate just after 9pm, a Chrysler station wagon was travelling along New Beith Road towards Pub Lane when it collided with a Dodge Ram utility travelling in the opposite direction.

The Chrysler driver, a 45-year-old Silkstone man, was transported to hospital in a critical condition.

The Dodge driver, a 56-year-old Springfield Lakes man, and a young male passenger received minor injuries.

Witnesses or anyone with information is urged to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
