Following a two-vehicle traffic incident near New Beith last week on Friday, July 12, a 45-year-old man passed away.
According to preliminary investigations, the collision occurred just after 9 p.m. when a Chrysler station waggon headed towards Pub Lane on New Beith Road collided with a Dodge Ram utility vehicle driving in the opposite way.
The 45-year-old Silkstone resident who was operating the Chrysler was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in severe condition, where he passed unexpectedly on June 29 last night.
The 56-year-old Springfield Lakes man operating the Dodge and the 14-year-old youngster riding in it both sustained minor injuries.
Police are urged to get in touch with witnesses or anyone with information.
Investigating is the Forensic Crash Unit.
