Alan Shearer makes brutal Wayne Rooney quip ahead of Jamie Vardy meeting

The most recent Leicester City news is that Enzo Maresca has extended City’s winning streak while Rooney has lost each of his three games in charge of Birmingham City thus far.

Given Wayne Rooney’s outstanding debut for the team, Alan Shearer and Micah Richards might be relieved that Leicester City’s matchup with Birmingham City is quickly approaching.

Over the most recent international break, Rooney took over as manager of St Andrew’s from John Eustace. The position is second in the Championship for the former England man, who managed Derby County from November 2020 to June 2022.

On December 18, Rooney’s Birmingham City will play City in a Championship return. There is a lot of curiosity in the match between Rooney and Jamie Vardy after their wives’ public spat, and the game is being shown live.

Rooney’s return to England hasn’t gone as planned thus far. Blues have lost all three of his games in charge; their most recent loss came on Saturday afternoon in a 3-1 loss to Southampton.

Conversely, City has won nine straight games. They will want to keep up their winning streak when they play fellow promotion candidates Leeds United on Friday night.

However, attention has already begun to shift to the matchup with Birmingham. Despite the fact that both teams still have seven games to go before their match, Richards and Shearer are looking forward to it.

Richards questioned, “Have you seen the Coleen (Rooney) documentary?” on the podcast The Rest Is Football. I’m excited about the matchup because, well, Jamie Vardy plays for Leicester and Wayne Rooney manages Birmingham City. I am aware that Rooney hasn’t had a great start.

In response, Shearer said, “When do they play? When will it be played? If Rooney doesn’t win a game soon, he might lose his job, so it better happen soon! Has he not lost three times out of three?
