“Birmingham Ranking last 6 managers, Plus Rooney from worst to best”

We have ranked the current and past Birmingham bosses from worst to best – which manager deserves to be number one?

Spirits were high in the Midlands after such a good summer transfer window and a strong start to the season, but there has been criticism due to this management change, and it is unclear if this anger is warranted.

It’s unknown yet whether this move would benefit Blues, but if it doesn’t, a lot of questions will be raised about the board’s reasoning for making this management change.

This was the first very contentious choice made by Tom Wagner during his tenure, and some people think it will come back to haunt him.

In relation to managers, we have ranked both their present and prior six bosses in order of worst to best. Are you in favour of this order?                                Aitor Karanka

The great expectations that were placed on Karanka upon his arrival are among the reasons he is at the bottom.

Though he was unable to turn things around at St Andrew’s, he had taken Middlesbrough to the Premier League in the past.

He must be at the bottom of this list since, had he stayed in 2021, they may have been demoted at the conclusion of that season.

                        Pep Clotet

Though Clotet didn’t exactly have the finest time at the club, he was instrumental in Jude Bellingham’s development into a prized asset.

The effect of the Spanish coach cannot be understated, as his sell-on allowed the Midlands side to spend more during the summer window and allowed them to continue adhering to financial regulations.

Though he barely avoided relegation under him, he isn’t worthy of the first spot on this list. Under his leadership, the 2019–20 campaign ended with exceptionally dismal results.

             Wayne Rooney

Since Rooney hasn’t been on the job long, it’s difficult to evaluate him; instead, you have to base your decision on his prior performance.

Regretfully, he didn’t accomplish much when playing for DC United in the United States, which is one of the reasons some Birmingham supporters are worried about this appointment.

Nonetheless, he had success with Derby County throughout their administration, despite their inability to escape after losing 21 points in the 2021–2022 campaign.

                      Lee Bowyer

Bowyer arrived in the latter part of the 2020–21 season with a significant task ahead of him.

However, he performed admirably, leading Blues to safety after a few significant wins and kicking off the 2021–2022 season brightly.

Even though the squad suffered later in the season, the former Charlton Athletic manager was still able to lead the side to survival, therefore it was maybe unfortunate that he was fired in the summer of 2022.

                    Garry Monk

After the unfortunate stints of Harry Redknapp and Steve Cotterill, Monk performed well enough to lead Blues to safety at the conclusion of 2017–18. He was then given the entire next season to establish his value.

Under the former Swansea City defender, Birmingham managed to finish in 17th position despite being docked nine points, which is a respectable accomplishment.

It was his misfortune to be fired following that campaign.

                  John Eustace

Eustace also managed to conclude the previous term in 17th position, which was considered a strong effort given that they had been picked to finish lower.

As previously reported, even though the Blues were in sixth position, the club opted to split ways with him early this month.

It wouldn’t be shocking if he returned to employment shortly.
