Birmingham City suffer third straight defeat leaving Wayne Rooney and owners in trouble
The former head coach of DC United is already under criticism because he hasn’t won for his current team, Birmingham City, and suffered a loss to Southampton on Saturday.

Expectations were low when Wayne Rooney was controversially appointed manager of Birmingham City. The former Manchester United icon’s stints at Derby County and DC United had done little to establish his reputation on the sidelines. Now that his current team has suffered its third consecutive loss, Rooney finds himself in a challenging situation with some important concerns to address.
Rooney’s first loss was in a challenging match against Middlesbrough, who were riding high after winning five straight games. The club would feel deflated by their defeat to a winning goal scored in the final minute, which showed glimpses of what Rooney could become.
Even though they were playing in front of their home crowd at St Andrew’s, the club was outclassed in a 2-0 loss to Hull City, and they have since suffered a 3-1 loss to Southampton.
Even though Rooney acknowledged after the game that there were “a lot of positives,” the loss demonstrated that there is still much work to be done. However, the 38-year-old also declared that the group “needs to pick up points” as the five-time Premier League winner comes under increasing pressure.

Before Rooney arrived, Eustace had presided over eleven league games with five victories, three draws, and three losses—including back-to-back victories before to his dismissal.
