Wayne Rooney will have a deciding influence over Birmingham City’s transfers, according to Garry Cook, who acknowledged that it would be “professionally naive if you didn’t listen to the manager.”
Following John Eustace’s dismissal on Monday, Rooney signed with Blues on Wednesday. Rooney has been named first team manager, while Eustace was head coach.
He will be more in charge than Eustace was, particularly with regard to the players the Blues sign in the next transfer windows. In order to find players that want to play in the Premier League, Rooney will collaborate with technical director Craig Gardner.
