Seven Championship managers in ‘sack race’ includes Wyne Rooney.

Seven managers in the Championship have already lost their jobs this season, but who will be the next?

As the 17th week of the 2023–2024 Championship approaches, seven managers have already been relieved from their positions in dugouts around the country.

While some have departed with mutual accord, others have had their clubs fire them. The most recent departure from Rotherham United was Matt Taylor, who left the team languishing in 22nd place. He’s not the only recent victim, either.

Nigel Pearson departed Bristol City, John Eustace left Birmingham City, Xisco Munoz was dismissed of his duties at Sheffield Wednesday, and Neil Warnock bid adieu to Huddersfield Town. Gary Rowett exited Millwall through the exit doors, and Gareth Ainsworth departed Queens Park Rangers through the gates.

There have been several movements already, but they still don’t come close to the 22 management casualties that will occur in 2022–2023. However, with some teams falling short of their high standards and others having difficulty surviving the relegation struggle, there are now several bosses in a precarious situation.

Which editors, though, are the most likely to leave next? Although official betting statistics aren’t available, data specialists BETsiE have calculated the odds using computer simulations. Navigate through the pages to find the 13 managers who are allegedly in danger, arranged from least likely to go to most likely.
