Blackburn Rovers have had a tough season and there have been few standouts in a long season at Ewood Park.
Blackburn Rovers sit 17th in the Championship table as it stands. They’re three points above the drop zone as they look to preserve their second-tier status.
The Lancashire outfit have seen key players such as Adam Armstrong and most recently Adam Wharton make the rise to the Premier League. And, while this season has been a tough one, there have still been standout performers at Ewood Park, some of whom could perhaps make the step up.
Here, we pick out three Blackburn Rovers players capable of stepping up to the Premier League in the future…
Sammie Szmodics
No one has stood out for Rovers like Szmodics has. A stunning return of 27 goals in 40 games has seen him emerge as one of the Championship‘s best this season, and clubs are taking notice.
Fulham have joined Brentford and Luton Town in eyeing the attacking midfielder. The interest means that a rise to the Premier League could come this summer and after such a strong season, it would be deserved.
Andy Moran
Brighton & Hove Albion loanee Moran has one Premier League appearance to his name and while game time has slowed somewhat over the second half of the season, many would tip the Irishman to become a regular at that level.
The Blackburn Rovers loan man is a fantastic creative talent and his ability to play in a range of attacking roles has him well-equipped for a future at the top of the game.
