Jon Dahl Tomasson sends heartwarming message after exit*

Jon Dahl Tomasson, who left Blackburn Rovers by mutual consent, wrote a heartfelt letter to the team’s players, staff, and supporters.

After leading Ewood Park for 19 months, the Danish head coach has left the position. John Eustace will take over ahead of the Stoke City fixture tomorrow.

Rovers had their best Championship result since being relegated from the Premier League under Tomasson’s leadership. While developing young players and playing a vibrant, aggressive brand of football, he managed to get them to within one goal of a play-off spot.

The Dane expressed his gratitude to his teammates, staff, and supporters in a goodbye social media statement.

“It’s time to say goodbye to Rovers,” he posted on Instagram.

“To everyone at Rovers and the surrounding community, my family and I would like to extend our sincere gratitude for making this adventure so unforgettable.

“I would want to express my gratitude to Bev and Les, my coaching staff, the academy staff, and the workers who work tirelessly every day to develop the talented young players. I also want to thank the personnel who work behind the scenes in the kitchen, kit room, and grounds.

“I appreciate the excellent teamwork; you are working really hard.

“To the players: I want to express my gratitude for your unwavering devotion and hard effort in helping Rovers grow and succeed. I’m happy for you and excited to follow your professional endeavours.

“And lastly, I want to thank the fans. We appreciate your support and the numerous touching events that have occurred both inside and outside of the stadiums. Without supporters, football would not exist, so please accept my sincere gratitude and that of my crew.

“I will always remember my time with Rovers and I can honestly say, I wish Rovers all the best for the future and will keep the memories we made forever.”
