SUNDAY MORNING LATTEST RUMOURS REPORT *

Venky’s, the owners of Blackburn Rovers, had a summit to discuss the inner workings of the team; nevertheless, there would be no significant changes. Steve Waggott, the chief executive, travelled to India last week to talk about the issues facing the Lancashire company. Waggott, however, is not going to be axed as is being claimed.

But following the latest gaffe with the signing of American attacker Duncan McGuire, veteran secretary Ian Silvester might go.

If Sheffield Wednesday avoids relegation, they will submit a fresh offer for American striker Duncan McGuire. On the final day of the window, the Orlando hit man arrived for discussions with the Owls by plane, but when they hesitated, he took off for Blackburn.

McBride will now return to the Major League Soccer, although Wednesday still wants him on a permanent basis as long as they are in the Championship. The Blackburn deal fell through due to a paperwork problem. In the upcoming months, Rovers hope to sign McGuire to a full-time contract as well.

Next season, Harry Leonard, a teenage striker for Blackburn, is being pursued by Carlisle United and Oxford United. Although Leonard has made a few starts in the Championship, he might be sent on loan during the upcoming season. The young Rover was retained at the end but made available in the last window. But in the summer, he might be moving on to another club.
