Former Ipswich Town forward Jordan Rhodes has signed for League One side Blackpool on a permanent basis, having spent the 2023-24 season on loan with the club.
The 34-year-old has signed a one-year deal after being released by relegated Huddersfield Town to end his second spell at the Terriers, having re-joined in 2021.
Rhodes scored 15 goals for Neil Critchley’s Blackpool, who narrowly missed out on a play-off spot, finishing eight in the third tier.
“I’m very thankful to the head coach, the owner, and sporting director for giving me the opportunity to get to this point,” he stated after committing to the Tangerines permanently.
“I consider myself extremely fortunate to perhaps be given another opportunity to try my luck at Blackpool. I feel privileged to have the possibility to spend every day here again; I had a great time being here the previous season.
“It’s a place I feel really accustomed to, it brings the best out of me and hopefully together we can kick on again this coming season.”Rhodes appeared in just ten substitute games for Town overall, scoring one goal, until manager Roy Keane let him depart in 2009 for a mere £350,000.
At Bloomfield Road, he meets up with Dominic Thompson and Matthew Pennington, two former Town players.
