Blackpool Face Top Flight Competition For Key Target

Will Ferry, who can operate at left-back or in a more advanced left-sided role, is reportedly hot property this summer. Earlier in May, The Real EFL exclusively revealed interest in the former Southampton man from League One side Blackpool.

After a successful season that culminated in winning the Scottish Championship and securing a return to the top flight, Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin is in the hunt for reinforcements.

Goodwin has released the club’s title-winning left-back Scott McMann and it is believed United see Ferry as someone who fits the profile of players they are looking for.

Ferry’s youth, versatility, and potential for resale make him a valuable asset to the team as they strive to establish themselves as a Premiership contender.

The adaptable left-footer contributed two goals and four assists from the left flank for a Cheltenham team that would eventually lose out to relegation.

The Republic of Ireland Under 21 International has made 82 appearances for the Robins since moving from Southampton in August 2022, tallying two goals and dishing out eight assists.

Although the 23-year-old was reportedly shown interest from the lower echelons of the Championship, he seems intent on staying in League One at the very least, having rejected a contract offer from Whaddon Road.

It is believed that interest in Ferry is not exclusive to Tannadice Park among those living north of the border.
