At a special open day event, over 70 prospective food traders explored Bolton Market Food Hall, which is expected to become a popular destination for people of all ages. This was the venue’s largest audience of the year.
Market managers claim that the dynamic new site, which was constructed with assistance from the government’s Towns Fund, is centrally located within a thriving new town centre district.
This spring, the new food hall is scheduled to open.
This week, nine food units that serve a shared eating room for 192 diners were inspected by scores of prospective company owners, including newcomers and established traders.
In addition to the considerable number of businesses that have already placed their names on the waiting list, over fifty food and beverage establishments expressed a keen interest in participating on the day.
Before the store opens in the spring, the full lineup of merchants will be revealed. They were chosen based on business cases to give clients a wide range of possibilities.
The renowned group behind Bolton Market and the Bolton Food and Drink Festival will assist traders.
Benefits include broadcast sport, live entertainment, a community pot wash station, and extended opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays.
The Towns Fund is supporting a larger £5.59 million makeover of Bolton Market, which includes the new food hall location.
Elizabeth Park, the renovated Central Library, and the soon-to-open Wellsprings innovation hub for tech start-ups have all benefited from fund support.

“This modern and flexible hospitality venue is already proving to be very popular, with over 70 potential traders through the door in just a few hours yesterday,” stated Cllr Akhtar Zaman, Executive Cabinet Member for Regeneration at Bolton Council.
Considering the Moor Lane expansion, important cultural institutions, and sizable office buildings nearby, I’m sure that today was just the beginning of a busy day for our new food hall.
“Live sports, entertainment, and a calendar of events at neighbouring Elizabeth Park will contribute to the hall’s popularity as a destination for visitors of all ages, including families and students.”
Traders can still express their interest in acquiring a unit by sending an email to bolton.markets@bolton.gov.uk to request further details.
