In addition to holding Premier League team Luton Town to a scoreless draw at Kenilworth Road in the FA Cup third round on Sunday, Wanderers have won their last four league games.
With games remaining against many of their rivals, Ian Evatt’s team is presently sitting second in the table, two points behind leaders Portsmouth and two points ahead of third-place Peterborough United.
- Now that the January transfer window is open, Evatt will probably be eager to bolster his team in an effort to keep them in the top two. Josh Onomah, a former Preston North End and Fulham midfielder, is one player who the Trotters are reportedly showing interest in.

Journalist Alan Nixon claims that the Trotters are considering a move for Onomah, a free agent following his summer departure from Preston.Onomah joined Deepdale on a short-term contract in January of last year. He made 13 appearances for the team and made an impression, so the club offered him a new contract, but he chose not to sign it.

- Onomah is reportedly “looking to get back into a club as soon as possible,” according to Nixon, and since the Wanderers are eager to add players “without spending too much money,” he might be the perfect fit.

Onomah would make a fantastic addition to the Trotters.Even though it would take some time for him to regain his fitness, he has already shown his mettle in the Premier League and the Championship, and he would be a tremendous asset in League One.
Onomah would provide even more quality in the middle of the park to the Wanderers’ already formidable midfield options, which include George Thomason, Josh Sheehan, Aaron Morley, Paris Maghoma, and Kyle Dempsey.
After going more than six months without a club, Onomah will be itching to play regular football, and Evatt might be the ideal manager to help him find his spark again.
