Bolton Wanderers stance on signing free agent outlined

Bolton Wanderers are not pursuing a move for Josh Onomah this month, as detailed in a report by The Bolton News.

Bolton Wanderers have been linked with a move for the former Premier League midfielder this winter by reporter Alan Nixon on his Patreon.

After leaving Preston North End last summer, Onomah, 26, is a free agent and is still considering his options.

According to The Bolton News’ most recent update on his condition, the Trotters are “not” considering him as they try to add some reinforcements to maintain the momentum behind their push for promotion to the Championship.

Bolton Wanderers’ position described
Onomah was signed by Preston in January of last year, and before his contract expired at the end of June, he played 13 games for them in the second tier.

According to a TEAMtalk report, Stoke City looked at him during the preseason on trial. However, the Potters decided not to sign him, and he has been without a club for the last six months.

After beginning his career at Tottenham Hotspur and working his way up through the ranks of the London team, he made 32 appearances for the first team in all competitions. In order to gain experience, he also went on loan to Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday.

The former England youth international parted ways with Spurs in 2019 and went on to play for Fulham for four years.

Onomah made 76 appearances for the Whites and scored five goals. Twice in his tenure, the Cottagers were promoted to the top flight.

He is still looking for a new place to live, so he won’t be getting back together with Bolton anytime soon.
