Evatt Issues Update on Bodvarsson Injury against Leyton Orient Saturday’

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson could be fit to face Leyton Orient on Saturday after the injury which forced him off against Bristol Rovers turned out to be minor.

Bodvarsson, who remained on the field after Dion Charles had been substituted following the dismissal of Ricardo Almeida Santos, was replaced by Victor Adeboyejo with 72 minutes played at the Toughsheet Community Stadium, after being visibly seen limping and nursing his right leg.

Immediate fears turned towards the Icelander’s ankle, which had kept him sidelined for much of 2023, but Bolton boss Ian Evatt has allayed such fears, saying Bodvarsson was withdrawn as a result of an impact injury.

“He has a dead calf and got a real whack on it,” Evatt told The Bolton News.

“It isn’t muscular. It isn’t really a significant injury, just a contact one.

“It is very sore and stiff. Hopefully it will only take a few days to recover because I thought, again, he was excellent.”
