Wanderers leading Oxford and Wycombe in race to sign Luton Town’

According to Football Insider, Bolton Wanderers, Oxford United, Lincoln City, and Wycombe Wanderers are among the League One clubs interested in taking Luton Town striker Joe Taylor on loan this month.

Taylor, 21, is presently on loan at League Two Colchester, where he has been a revelation, scoring 12 goals and assisting twice in a struggling fourth-tier side.

Taylor is poised to be recalled from his loan at Colchester and sent to a League One club to put his skills to the test.

Several inquiries for the Wales Under-21 international have already been received by the Hatters.

Bolton, Oxford, Lincoln, and Wycombe are among the clubs in League One to have made loan queries for Taylor.

The striker is ready to return to Kenilworth Road after scoring four goals in his last seven games during the busy holiday season.

Colchester terminated manager Matthew Etherington recently, with the U’s only one place and five points above the relegation zone.

Taylor spent the first half of the 2022-23 season with League One Peterborough, making 15 appearances in all competitions.

During his one-year stint with the Posh, he started just two League Cup matches and scored just once in total, playing only 19 times.

The Peterborough-born striker joined Luton Town 12 months ago and contributed six goals to the Hatters’ promotion to the Premier League.

This season, Bolton and Oxford are both vying for automatic promotion, while Lincoln and Wycombe are also in the middle of the table.

In other news, Aston Villa are likely to terminate the contract of their League One star, who is set to transfer in January.
