Ipswich Town transfer blow helped Bolton with transfer agreement’

The Tractor Boys look set to miss out on one Blackburn striker, opening the door for suitors of another

With so many prospective signings available, clubs will undoubtedly miss out on some.

Indeed, in many circumstances, this will be impacted by the current posture of the club for which their target plays.

Ipswich Town appears to be one of the latest clubs to have their January transfer window preparations upset in this manner.

Last week, it was claimed that Ipswich had two bids rejected to recruit Blackburn Rovers striker Sam Gallagher.

It appears that any likelihood of such a transfer occurring before the window closes on February 1st may have passed.

According to the latest update from Express Sport reporter Charlie Gordon, Blackburn are now unwilling to sell Gallagher this month, having rejected three proposals from the Tractor Boys for his services.

Given that Ipswich may require a new striker this month to keep their Championship promotion campaign on pace, and with George Hirst out indefinitely due to injury, this appears to be a setback for Kieran McKenna’s side.

In contrast, others argue that Blackburn’s choice not to sell Gallagher to Ipswich in January will benefit Bolton Wanderers.
