Before the window closes, Aaron Collins of Bristol Rovers needs to secure his spot and join Bolton Wanderers.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Bolton Wanderers are looking to make late additions to their squad before the transfer window closes, with a focus on improving their forward line.
- The club’s bid of £600,000 for Bristol Rovers striker Aaron Collins has been rejected, and they are now weighing up their options.
- Collins has been a consistent threat going forward, with a good goal and assist record, and a move to Bolton could benefit both the player and the club.
Now that the January transfer window is nearing its end before it closes for good in the summer, Bolton Wanderers will be eager to finish up any outstanding business.
Throughout the entire EFL, the transfer season has been rather calm, but as we approach the final 48 hours, things could soon start to pick up.
This month, the Trotters have added two players: Calvin Ramsay and Nathanael Ogbeta, who joined the team in the previous few days.
Bolton is leading League One and will be hoping that any business they can settle between now and the deadline will be sufficient to get them over the finish line at the conclusion of the season.
Though they already have players like Dion Charles, Victor Adeboyejo, and Cameron Jerome, the League One team appears to be focused on strengthening their forward line.
Bolton Wanderers are interested in Aaron Collins
Niall Ennis of Blackburn Rovers appeared to be at the top of their list for the majority of this transfer window, but as of late, that deal has stagnated.
Bolton’s focus has now shifted to Aaron Collins of Bristol Rovers, as manager Ian Evatt has revealed the team’s £600,000 bid for the midfielder was turned down.
The Bolton manager continued by telling The Bolton News that the team is currently considering their options, including whether to make a better offer or look for other opportunities.
Additionally, Charlton Athletic was informed on Monday by London News Online that Bristol Rovers had turned down a £500,000 offer for Collins.
According to the story, it was unclear if Charlton would return with a better proposal. However, The Bolton News claims that Bolton is the sole party involved in negotiations for a potential agreement.
Collins, whose current contract has 18 months left on it, is said to be worth roughly £1 million, according to this article.
Given that the deal appears to still be possible, Bolton and Collins may have a busy few hours ahead of them.
Aaron Collins must push through a move to Bolton
Throughout his career, Aaron Collins has played for numerous teams, but his finest play actually didn’t start until he joined Bristol Rovers.
Since joining the Gas, the forward has made 118 league games and scored 34 goals. During their League Two promotion season, he scored 15 goals.
In League One, the 26-year-old continued his impressive play, scoring 16 goals to help the Gas avoid relegation.
Collins hasn’t scored many goals this season, but he has still contributed assists to his teammates. According to SofaScore.com, the Welshman has scored three goals in the league thus far, averaging 0.1 goals per game and a scoring frequency of 682 minutes.
Collins’ goal conversion rate is five percent, and he is taking 2.3 shots per game on average, of which 1.1 are on goal. Despite missing eight good opportunities this season, the striker has continued to contribute creatively even though his goals have reduced.
