Report: Adams Injury Update……

Tyler Adams is once again expected to miss many months following hamstring surgery.

The Bournemouth midfielder had surgery two weeks ago following a recurrence of his hamstring issue, according to a report from The Athletic. It is currently anticipated that the captain of the U.S. men’s national team won’t be able to play until at least mid-February.

When Adams was still at Leeds, he underwent hamstring surgery in March. It took him six months to recuperate, and on September 27, he made his comeback to the game against Stoke City.

However, Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola announced a few days after the game that Adams had experienced a setback and was “going to be out for some time.”

Later on, Iraola would indicate that there was a chance for further surgery.

“I believe that things haven’t gone well since the surgery he had last season,” Iraola remarked. Most likely, something wasn’t quite right. He needs to come up with another plan.

Adams, who reportedly paid $25 million to join Bournemouth this summer from Leeds, is already facing an unsuccessful first season there. The Cherries appear to be in a relegation battle as they currently stand in 19th place in the Premier League standings.

Adams will have missed nearly a full year of action by the time he returns.

Adams captained the USMNT during the 2022 World Cup and has 36 caps overall. His new goal is to heal in time for the June start of the Copa América the following summer.
