Bradford City to confirm new deal for star player:

Bradford City has a few players out of contract at the conclusion of the season, including Matty Platt, Harry Chapman, and Richie Smallwood.

Pointon, 20, will see his current contract with the League Two team expire in late June, but the club is believed to have the option to extend his stay for another year, according to Transfermarkt.

The Bantams must guarantee that they keep him for as long as possible because he is a talented player.

Pointon is still inexperienced, but he has the potential to be a key player for Bradford next season as they attempt to contend at the top of the table.

He has made 28 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring two goals and providing four assists. Although he hasn’t been prolific, he is still young and will benefit from consistent first-team football.

The forward, who came up through Valley Parade’s youth ranks, adds a unique element to Graham Alexander’s team up front.

Pointon was a regular with the Bantams at several youth levels before turning professional in 2022. His stay was extended last year.

The West Yorkshire club allowed him to leave on loan, and he spent time in non-league with Brighouse Town, Farsley Celtic, and Liversedge to further his progress.

Former manager Mark Hughes gave the teenager his first-team debut in September of last year, and he has not looked back since.

Bradford’s decision to keep him this season rather than loan him out for the fourth time demonstrates how highly valued he is by the club.

They need to make sure they don’t lose him already, given his uncertain contractual condition.

Alexander’s men return to action Thursday evening with a trip to Barrow, looking to build on their 1-0 home success against Gillingham last time out. Brad Halliday, a defender, scored the winning goal against the Gills.
