Bradford: It’s thought that a father killed his wife and two adolescent daughters before taking his own life.
At their separate home in Clayton, Bradford, the bodies of Jitendra Lad (49), his wife Daksha Lad (44) and their children Trisha (19) and Nisha (17) were discovered.

Although they declared they were not seeking for anyone else in connection with the deaths, police opened a murder investigation.

They did not provide any information about the circumstances surrounding the dead’ discovery, only stating that preliminary signs point to the possibility that they had been in the house “for some time”.

There were tributes given to the “lovely” family.

The two girls went to the city’s Thornton Grammar School, and Trisha was enrolled in Leeds University’s second year of a biochemistry programme. Trisha’s friend Jessica Garside said: “She was so lovely.” She was usually wearing a cheerful smile.”

Melissa Taylor, the university’s president of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Society, posted the following on Twitter: “It is very sad to learn about Trisha Lad’s passing. She was a beautiful and well-liked lady. Peace be with you.”
While employed by Bradford Council as clerical officers, Mr. and Mrs. Lad were reported to have “very upset” coworkers.

“Local people are shocked and saddened by the news of this terrible event,” said local authority leader David Green. “Our sympathy goes out to the wider family, friends, and neighbours of this family.”

At 8:31 p.m. on Monday, Blackberry Way, police were summoned to the residence by a neighbour who reported that the family had not been seen in a while. “This is clearly a significant incident and our investigation will be thorough as we piece together the events that have led to the deaths of a local family,” stated Detective Superintendent Simon Atkinson.

“In order to determine how these persons died, we are currently conducting forensic investigations.

“We are clearly keeping an open mind but from what we know at the moment we are not looking for anybody else.”For the family and friends, this is a really trying moment. Our goal is to get as many details as we can about the events that occurred on the premises.”

Although police had blocked off the peaceful cul-de-sac yesterday, groups of weeping teens were being allowed entry to the residence.
