Fans sad as Former Bradford City forward dies aged 87*

David Jackson, a former forward for City, passed away at the age of 87.
Between 1955 and 1961, Jackson made 275 appearances and scored 68 goals while playing for the Bantams.

He played for the club under his father, Peter, who was also their twin brother. Peter had been born ten minutes earlier.

With 14 goals, including three in the FA Cup, David was City’s leading scorer in 1957–1958.

The brothers also departed to sign for Tranmere when their father was fired in March 1961.

Jackson’s goals tally for City makes him joint 11th in the all-time scoring list – currently alongside Andy Cook.
