These 26 black and white pictures will take you back to Bradford in the 1970s

Photographs of street scenes from 1971 and 1978 show the changing face of Bradford

These images, which are in black and white, show Bradford’s street centers from over fifty years ago.

Photographers for the Daily Mirror took them twice, in June 1978 and September 1971.

The set of images shows a number of locales, including Lumb Lane, but it’s unclear why the photographer was dispatched to Bradford.

For the city, it was an intriguing and significant decade. The new Kirkgate shopping center opened, and it was renamed as the Metropolitan District Council.
