Ghastly crash in Bradford as two cars struck by van in collision

On Friday afternoon, police were called to the highway between Mapleview Drive and Innisfil Beach Road; minor injuries were sustained by the car occupants.

Early on Friday afternoon on Highway 400, a wheel from a passenger van broke loose and struck two cars, inflicting only minor injuries on the occupants.

At 12:47 p.m., police were summoned to the highway between Mapleview Drive and Innisfil Beach Road.

Sgt Sami Nasr of the OPP Highway Safety Division stated, “A southbound vehicle lost a tyre and it hit oncoming traffic in the northbound lanes,” adding that the wheel bounced into the opposing lane.

“We were able to find it because it was disabled on the right shoulder southbound,” he explained.

The 47-year-old Cambridge resident who is the van’s driver is accused of driving a car with a detached part, according to Nasr.
