Man arrested after woman killed and child in Bradford

Sunday morning, Habibur Masum was taken into custody shortly after Kulsuma Akter, 27, passed away on Monday.
The male, 25, was taken into custody in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, according to detectives.
After Ms. Akter’s death in the city centre incident, there was a worldwide manhunt for Mr. Masum, which ended with the arrest. Her infant was safe.

A “tragic incident in which a mother has lost her life in the most horrific of circumstances” led to the arrest, according to Det Ch Insp Stacey Atkinson of West Yorkshire Police.
“We understand that this has caused a considerable amount of concern in the local community,” she said.

At approximately 15:20 BST on Saturday, Ms. Akter was attacked while pushing her infant in a stroller down Bradford’s Westgate in the city centre.
After calling for emergency assistance, Ms. Akter was declared deceased at the site shortly after.
Due to their prior interactions with the victim, Greater Manchester Police and the West Yorkshire police said on Monday that they had submitted themselves to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
