Following an accident on Allerton Lane close to the intersection of Thornton Road, emergency personnel hurried to the scene.
The Automobile Association stated: “The road is closed due to a crash on Allerton Lane both ways from Allerton Lane to B6145 Thornton Road.”
The collision was also verified by Inrix traffic alerts, which stated: “Allerton Lane is closed in both directions due to an accident from Allerton Lane (Allerton) to B6145 Thornton Road (Thornton).”
At this point, it’s unclear how many cars were involved or whether anyone was hurt.
Social media users in the area reported that a police van was obstructing the road.
