Residents expressed their “distress at a life cut short” and “sadness” following the death of a man in an early-morning crash on a Bradford road on Saturday.
Just before one in the morning on Saturday, a car struck a wall at the intersection of Moorhead Lane and Beechwood Avenue in Shipley, killing a 34-year-old man known locally as Mohammed Wahid.
One nearby Shipley resident remarked, “I don’t know how people and families deal with it.” “It’s incredibly upsetting when a life is cut short like that.
“It’s just so depressing. May he and his family be blessed.
Another resident claimed, “I heard the crash.” “A large emergency response took place.
“It’s really horrible when accidents like this happen.”
The incident was “unsettling” for locals, according to one resident.
“I was in bed when it happened,” another resident added. It’s really quite depressing.
“One of my neighbors shared what transpired with a group of us. We were all quite agitated.
Police, the ambulance service and the fire service were called at 12.59am Saturday to the scene of a crash at the junction of Moorhead Lane and Beechwood Avenue.
Despite receiving immediate medical attention at the scene, the man passed away shortly after.
According to the Muslim bereavement service Janaza Announcements, the guy, who has been identified locally as Mohammed Wahid, 34, died in a “tragic crash” on Saturday morning.
His burial and funeral date are still pending.
“Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died in a road traffic collision in Shipley,” a West Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said in a comprehensive statement regarding the collision.
At 12.59am on Saturday, police were contacted by the ambulance service who were attending a single vehicle collision in Moorhead Lane at the junction with Beechwood Avenue.
“A blue Renault Captur, which had been travelling north-east towards Saltaire, had collided with a wall.
“The driver, a 34-year-old man from Bradford, was given emergency treatment but was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
“A road closure remained in place while the scene was being cleared.
“Anyone who saw the collision or the car being driven in the vicinity in the moments before it happened is urged to get in touch with the police, especially if they have dashcam or CCTV evidence that shows the incident.
